Review:
The demon king is an amazing first book in an epic fantasy series. If you are not familiar with reading epic fantasy you need to know that first books in series are usually the worst in the series because there is so much world building evolved, that the story can sometimes suffer. This book did very well of giving the information needed about the world but wasn't forcing it to quickly upon you and by about mid-way through you understood the world and the characters with in it and the story really picked up.

As the world they live in is a queendom so there was a big cast of bad ass female characters. The cast of characters was rather big but you still knew what was happening and who was who. in books with big casts it cant be as easy to follow because you don't know who everyone is and it can become confusing to the plot if you cant remember everyones name and relationship to one another (*cough* game of thrones *cough*) but this story really spent time defining every character and made sure they were easy to understand and follow throughout the corse of the book.

In every book told from duel point of views your going to pick you favourite voice, mine was certainly Rasia she was a very kick ass female character, yes she was the princess but she still wanted answers and she realised she was the only person that could get them. Although she did have her girly moments she was ultimately the dangerous adventure seeking one. Han on the other hand was more relaxed and trying to avoid trouble although trouble came to him he didn't really do anything that would make me call him a brave or worthy male protagonist.

This book was left so openly, I will definitely be picking up the second book because thats when the real action will start. I really recommend this to anyone who wants to start a fairly easy fantasy novel or if you just want a good read that you don't have to be to submerged into the story. I hope you enjoy it if you do pick it up. and you can tell us what you thought on our twitter page @Bathybooks

May the odds be ever in you favour
